M. Kevin Turner, Ph.D.
Dr. Turner has been in private practice since 2002 with his wife, Andrea. He does psychotherapy and psychological testing for a wide variety of ages of groups to include children, adolescents and adults. He does pain management evaluations, bariatric evaluations, learning disability evaluations, evaluations to assist physicians with appropriate medicines for psychological issues as well as worker’s comp evaluations and disability evaluations. He provides individual and group psychotherapy for adults, children and adolescents. Prior to entering private practice in 2002, he worked at the Medical College of Georgia for 15 years where he ran the outpatient psychological testing clinic, taught psychotherapy and psychological testing to psychology and psychiatry residents at MCG for 14 years. Prior to MCG, he has worked in psychiatric hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, prisons and adolescent correctional facilities. Dr. Turner has served in the United States Army Reserve for 12 years. He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He has two children and has been married for 20 years. He did his undergraduate work at The Citadel. He got his master’s degree from Western Kentucky and a doctorate from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the American Academy of Psychotherapists. He is a fellow in the Georgia Psychological Association.
Mrs. Turner has a Bachelor’s degree in social work from North Carolina State University and a Master’s degree in social work from the University of South Carolina. She has helped individuals and families for nearly 20 years. She offers psychotherapy for adults and adolescents using evidence based practice like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness training. Elizabeth Edwards, M.Ed., M.S., LPC
Ms. Edwards is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She earned a Masters in Special Education and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Augusta University. She is a retired educator and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for almost a decade. Her experience as a regular education and special education teacher has provided her with a wealth of knowledge of developmental disorders, learning disorders, and behavior disorders that she has integrated into the practice of psychology. She has experience with children and adolescents, both in school and clinical settings. She has experience working with young adults and older adults including grief counseling. She offers individual counseling utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She also co-facilitates group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Edwards is a member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia , Phi Beta Kappa, and the National Association of Psychometrists.
